All of those nights I spent worrying about how the dogs would get along with Ryan were pointless. Look at this little doll baby with Ryan. She loved every minute of it.



Also, Ryan does not like leaning back anymore because she is trying to hard to sit up on her own. She gets closer and closer everyday. Tonight, after Kramer ran away when a fly caught his attention, she was left all by her lonesome and she sat up on her own for about three minutes. So proud

Like father, like son. Bill is continually working on his own balancing act with Ryan- she's getting pretty good!

Balancing Act

This weekend we ventured home to Huntsville to go to one of my dear friend's tool and gadget shower. We stayed with Bill's parents, JoJo & Pap. It has been a month since they have seen Ryan, so many great times were had. Pap decided to test out Ryan's leg strength by performing the balancing act. I have a picture of Bill where he is doing this same thing, but have not scanned it in yet. Check out that drool!

SOLD!!!!!

Bill and I's first home together is officially sold. We closed on it Monday and are ready to start packing. This picture is really important to me because we went through so much at this house. I really am sad to see it go. We took a disgusting house and turned it into our home.
I still remember walking in this house for the very first time. There was stained carpet all over, purple walls in the bedroom, a shoe rack in the living room, mold growing in the dishwasher (don't worry we got all new appliances), swords in the master bedroom (that's right swords), green striped wall paper in the mast bathroom, cracked windows, leaking faucets, stained walls, and a smell that wouldn't quit. With the overwhelming help of family we turned our house into our dream home. We love every single part of our house. We have already talked about how we are buying quite a few light fixtures we have in our home for the new house. It is pretty rare that two people our age get to customize a house to their every wish. I love every memory I have with my family in this house and it will be missed- but I am more than ready to be in Auburn!!!!!!!!!!!
Our old house was 25 minutes from Auburn. Our new house is 1 mile from campus. 2.5 miles from my work, and 2 miles from Ryan's daycare! Hello gas savings. Auburn here we come!!

Chickens, & Horses, & Pigs, Oh My!

It has been a while since I have blogged, and I have a great excuse. Last week Ryan and I met up with Kim, Kate, & Jack and flew to Pickering, MO to visit our Grandma Shirley and Great Gran. Yes, that means Ryan had her first flight. She did such an amazing job on the plane. I was actually pretty surprised. She slept the whole time, both flights. It was the car rides that were unbearable for her.
Anyways, we had such an amazing trip. It is so cool that Ryan got to meet her great great grandma, and of course great grandma is pretty impressive too.
While we were there, we had the goal of seeing a different type of livestock everyday. This task was more for Kate, but I enjoyed the rewards of it as well. First, Grandma Shirley lined up the amazing task of 160 pigs coming by her house on their way to get slaughtered. As soon as I heard the word slaughtered my heart was broken. But, apparently these pigs have never seen soil, they are raised for kill. Not like that adorable story makes things any better, but it somehow put my animal loving heart at ease thinking these huge, stinky pigs were not taken out of a gorgeous home, they were taken from a parking lot. Now, being an animal lover, this was very hard for me to witness; but the pork sandwich I had once I got inside eased my pain.

So the pigs were marked off of our list, now it was on to horses. Ryan loved the horses. I think it was because she has two of her own at her house at all times. The horses' name was Babe and so much fun to pet. I just love how innocent and clueless horses look. Okay, so we've seen pigs and horses, now onto the chickens. Oh, we also saw cows up close and personal- but no pictures were captured of Ryan. I will have to say my favorite animals were the chickens. We were able to feed them and every time I it scared them to the other side of their pen. I was probably giving them all mini strokes, but it was too funny to watch their reaction to my noises. Ryan was pretty excited by the chickens. Whenever they pecked at the grass she would jump back a bit, I think she thought they may get her.

Overall, we had such an amazing trip. I always enjoy going to my Grandma Shirley's house. There is just something about that house that brings back the most amazing and vivid childhood memories. You'll have to check out my sister's blog for a better description.

We Got a Big One!!!

As I mentioned earlier this week, we sold our house, and as of yesterday we got a new one! I am so so so freaking excited about living in Auburn. Here is the house we got. It is on McKinley, right in the heart of Auburn. Go ahead and get a good look at this picture, because Bill and I have a list a page long of all the renos we are going to do. We are so excited!

I was looking through my pictures and just realized I have not taken many of Ryan on her own. I put her back in her 4th of July dress this morning to take her 4 month picture. I had her in this on the 4th, but quickly took it off after she got pretty hot. Enjoy


I quickly found out it was a two person job to get her to smile, and this was the best I could do


This bow was just too much. I found it in her closet and had to put it in her hair.


I was trying to work on my photography skills and focus on her adorable eyelashes, fluttering those babies is going to get her anything!!!

The 4th & More

I have to start this blog by saying, we sold our house on July 3rd! How exciting!!!!! This whole process has been pretty easy and enjoyable. We are ecstatic about moving, but we will miss our first home together. I mean we put our heart and soul into this place, and now we are passing it on to someone else. I do feel very good about our buyer. The feeling of passing your home on to someone who you know will take care of it just puts your mind at ease. We really did have a great time flipping our home together. I just love how we made everything just the way WE wanted it. We were hoping to move into Auburn without having to worry about all of the construction and renovating; but, do not worry, we are looking to take on another project. We have our eyes on this great house in Auburn, in an amazing location, but it does have quite a few projects as well. I do think quite a few people could move into this house and everything would be just the way they wanted it, but not us! We are too picky! We are closing on our house July 20th, so we need to move quickly. I do smile every time I think about living in Auburn. Opelika has been good to us, but we just have too many responsibilities in Auburn, and we belong there.

In other news, we had an AMAZING 4th of July weekend. We had a TON of visitors: Kev, Kim, Kate, Jack, Dave, Surin, mom, and dad. The Koseks and Dave came into town Thursday night and we all took a day trip to Atlanta on Friday We visited the aquarium and planned to visit the coca-cola museum, but that never happened. After we toured the absolutely packed museum, we were too exhausted to go through it again. So we just ate some seafood at Legal Seafood and headed back to Auburn..

My parents came into town on the 4th and we had the Adams out to the house for an exhilarating day of fun. We sat out on the back porch all day, grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs, played in the sprinkler, and combined a 25 foot painters' tarp, a kiddie pool, and a homemade ramp into the world's most fun slip-n-slide. My sister captured these hilarious moments, so pictures will be posted soon, but man it was so much fun.




One of the best parts about the 4th of July was that our little girl turned 4 months old. It's very strange, time has flown, but it has also gone by so slowly. I am trying to cherish every moment of this last month at home with Ryan. I cannot believe I am going back to work in less than a month. I really thought I would be fine leaving her at daycare and being in the adult world again; but the whole process has started to upset me more and more. I know it will be a hard transition, but a necessary one.

Bill and I were discussing how the 4th of July will always be special to us, because it is the day we found out we were having a baby (this picture was taken hours after we found out). Last year we were visiting Bill's parents at their cabin and just had a feeling we were pregnant. We traveled to the local Scottsboro Walmart and bought three tests. I came back to the cabin and took one and before I could even get out of the bathroom, the test said positive. Bill and I knew at that moment our lives would never be the same- and we could not have been more thrilled. We kept saying, "At this time next year, we are going to have a four month old." I cannot believe that year has gone by already. I find myself thinking, where are we going to be in another year? I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.
