My husband is amazing

Well, Bill has done it again. Last week my back pain complaining had reached its peak. Everynight as soon as Bill got home I would wait until he sat down and then I would sit right in front of him and point to where my back hurt. So this week, Bill told me he had a surprise for me...I just got back from his fabulous surprise.

Bill booked a spa day for me at Spa Auburn. I got there at 10:00 and left at 3:00. I had a pregnancy massage. a rejunvenating facial, eyebrow waxing, manicure, and pedicure. I just feel like a new person. When I got there they asked who I was and I said Jenny Ferguson, and they said, "Yes, your husband just called and told us you would be a little early." I mean talk about feeling important. Anyways, the women there were so kind and so AUBURN, I mean there is no other way to say it. I just loved getting pampered all morning.

There was a pretty hilarious moment in the day. I woke up around 7 this morning and ate a bowl of cereal, then had an apple around 9:45. Then I headed to the spa. Well, I did not even think about not eating again until 3:00. So during my facial my stomach was doing some serious growling. Once we were done, I asked her if they had any snacks and she said, "Yeah we have goldfish, I will have some waiting for you at your pedicure chair." So I went to the restroom then headed to my chair and there was this huge like serving bowl full of goldfish with a nice glass of ice water next to it. So, wouldn't you know it, I ate the WHOLE DANG BOWL while I was getting my pedicure donw. I really was pretty embarassed as I was gulping down the final 2 little swimmers; but the woman was so nice about it. She made me feel better when she mentioned she might have eaten the bowl:)

So when my day of serenity finally came to an end, I went to the front counter and said do I need to sign anything? She said your husband has taken care of everything. I LOVE THAT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Already Stubborn

I had yet another doctor's appointment today and everything went well. I was a little worried about this appointment because I had a very active day yesterday. After my active, pep rally day, I felt like Ryan was sitting a lot lower. Dr. Golden confirmed my thoughts, she is definitely lower. However, this thought was confirmed when nurse Jenny came into take her heartbeat...

As most mothers and mothers to be know, every appointment begins with the nurse taking the baby's heartbeat. Well, normally as soon as they put the reader on my stomach you hear a heartbeat; today was a little different. When I was in the waiting room, Ryan was kicking like a mad woman. This kicking continued while nurse Jenny was trying to get her heartbeat. She first put the doppler thingy on the spot where her heartbeat normally reads and we heard nothing. Then she switch to the other side of my stomach, still nothing. She asked, "Where does it feel like she is?" I said well I feel like she is really low today. Sure enough she more the reader about 3- 4 inches down and that was where we heard a faint beat, then nothing. She moved the reader and we heard a faint beat, then saw a foot kicking my stomach, then nothing. This happened about three times. I was cracking up, I knew she was ok because I could feel and see her kick, but that little stinker would not sit still for a heartbeat check. Is Ryan already taking after her momma when it comes to being stubborn, let's hope not for Bill's sake!!

Finally, we were able to get a read, 133 BPM. Very healthy, my blood pressure was 121/71, very normal and she was kicking during the whole appointment. I had my first cervix check today- nothing. Which is great because I have to go to Huntsville next weekend. However, Dr. Golden said if I am even 1cm dilated then I am not going, so I am going to be sitting still for the next week!! Anyways, he said he could not tell yet if she was head down, it felt like she was lying across my belly. He said if she does not feel head down by next week then he will do an ultrasound just to be sure. I told him I feel like she is doing somersaults in my stomach so I am sure she will flip at one point!

While all of this information is being poured into my head I am just thinking, our daughter is going to be here in 5 weeks! Amazing!!!!!

Dance Dance

Last night was the annual 6th grade sock hop at Drake Middle School. I just cannot express how much I love middle school dances, especially 6th grade. Now, 7th grade tends to get a little more risque, but 6th grade dances are just so innocent and awkward that I could watch them all day long. Usually, you will find me on stage dancing like a mad fool and embarassing myself in front of all the kids; however, this year I had to take somewhat of a backseat since I am 34 weeks pregnant.

See, that is the problem, I am not really a backseat kind of girl. I mean when Soulja Boy comes on over the loud speaker, it is going to take divine intervention for me to sit that dance out. So of course I got up and did the dance on stage with my kids, well then Lean Back came on, then the Electric Slide, then Ice Ice Baby. I mean I just did not want to sit down. Even though everyone told me I would end up at EAMC later to deliver little Ryan, she was having the time of her little fetus life too. She was moving around all night long. She loved the music, well either loved it or was tossing and turning because she hated it so much:) But, let's face it that girl is never going to be a wall flower at a dance!

Bottom line, if you have never been to a middle school dance, I highly recc. checking one out. I mean it is the best social experiment possible. Here is a kodak moment with all of the dancing mommas.

Holy Back Pain

I know I have added a small child to my weight, but I never thought the back pain would be this severe. I went grocery shopping after work, came home and folded our clothes, cleaned our floors, and I am now walking with a limp. I mean is this how it is going to be for the next 7 weeks? This is killer!!!!!!

Graduated

Tonight we had our last "Prepared Childbirth" class. Like I mentioned earlier, we were very hesitant about this class; however, I think in the end we were both very happy we went. We had a "walking ceremony" to commemorate our graduation of this class. Our instructor, Nurse Julie, handed out our certificates as we, Bill and I, came up to recieve it all of our classmates clapped (we all had to do it). You know I chuckled when we were instructed to do this, but I could not help but smile when it happened. I mean come on, when was the last time you were in front of a group of people and they were clapping for you!

P.O.P

I had my 32 week doctor appointment today and it was great as usual. My blood pressure is normal, I am gaining weight like a water balloon being filled to the top, and Ryan's heartbeat is nice and healthy. I was a little scared when the nurse told me her heartbeat was 131, but she assured me it will continue to drop until she is born.
Dr. Golden asked how I was feeling and I expressed my extreme lower back pain to him and his response was, "You have entered the P.O.P stage of pregnancy. This is when you truly start feeling the pains of pregnancy." I just thought yeah no kidding!! I also love the irony of this acronym, yes you are right I do feel like I should POP. Who am I kidding I really do love being pregnant. There is no better excuse to gain weight and eat what you want!

Picture Fun

Since we have gotten our new camera Bill has been running a mini photography class in our house. His two students are Radly and Kramer. This class did not just start in Auburn, while we were in Jackson we hardly saw Bill and Kev because they were always frolicking off with their new fancy cameras to take pictures of flowers. Anyways I have a couple of awesome pictures to share with everyone, I cannot do a slideshow because a lot of them require commentary.

Okay, on New Years Eve we had a Wii bowling tournament, boys vs. girls at the Koseks. Bill and Kev were having an amazing time photographing the process of us approaching and releasing. So this is what the adults looked like.


And this is what Kate looked like. She kept walking up to the TV and making this motion. It was the cutest thing ever!! Everytime she did it she would just turn around and smile. Just adorable.



This is what Kate did everytime the dogs laid down. She would go under the kitchen sink, grab a dish towel, cover the dogs with the towel, give them a kiss on the nose, and tell them night night!


I just wanted to show how this child can sleep anywhere. We were all literally 10 yards away from her, notice the bowling going on in the background. She was just resting peacefully on her Dora couch!

I mean this is just precious. Radly has been doing this a lot lately, but now we have it documented. I just love it!

Class Time

Bill and I had our first child birth class this Monday and it was great! We were both dreading the class our whole way there; however, I decided that this class was absolutely necessary when Bill asked me if contractions hurt. On the way there, it was cold and rainy outside, we had just got back in town from the holidays, we still had not unpacked from our vacation- let's just say we both wanted to stay home. To start off, we were 10 minutes late and had to walk in right in front of everyone- embarrassing!
As the class progressed, we were extremely glad we were there. Yes, some of the information was a little ridiculous, but some of it was great and very useful. My personal favorite part was how our cervix was compared to a cheerio then the opening of a mayo jar, I think I teared up a little bit. Also, what childbirth class would be complete without watching the birthing video. No matter how gross and painful it all looked, I was still in tears at the end.
We have two classes left and we just can't help but think our little girl is going to be here in no time!!

A few picture updates

Bill and I just arrived home a couple of hours ago after being out of town since December 21st. There is no better feeling than walking into your own home after being away for so long.

We had an AMAZING holiday break. We traveled home to Huntsville for a week, then went to Jackson for a week. I have some random photos from my camera. The pictures are extremely random because Bill used our NEW CAMERA all Christmas. We got a Nikon D80 and he is obsessed with it. I am really impressed with it as well. I will admit I am still using the automatic settings instead of the manual, but I will learn eventually.


A couple of late additions to the nursery. Bill built these bookshelves before we left.


Ryan's sitting corner. This end table used to be in my room when I was a baby. Bill repainted it, I think it looks great with the bookshelves.


My grandmother sewed these for my mom's nursery. We got new frames, painted them brown and voila- modern wall art.
