Naked Baby!!!

You know if you can't be naked when you are a baby, then when can you be naked? I have been doing this more and more often, just having Ryan let it all hang out. It's summer time and hot outside, I mean she deserves this! Anyways, we have also been using the bumbo more since she hates tummy time- this is her neck strengthening practice. She does a really great job with it and she looks so darn cute in it. < span>r>

Since there is not much to do in a bumbo at this point in her life, we watch TV while sitting in it. Not just any TV, I just bought baby Einstein's developmental DVD, "Baby Beethoven." Before this we were watching Eebee baby, which is okay, but it was just a sample DVD someone gave me at a shower. So anyways, this baby Einstein DVD is the creepiest DVD I have ever watched, but Ryan was absolutely mezmorized by it! Bill and I both sat there and watched it with her and made some of the strange noises the characters made and tried to be entertaining too, but I think we just overstimulated her. Regardless, she loved the DVD and I can tell it is going to get me through some tough times.

House update- Still no buyers for our house yet. We have shown it to the same couple twice, but that was yesterday- so we are still waiting to hear something. We HAVE found a house we want to buy in Auburn, so now it is just a waiting game! Please pray for the selling of this place!

BFFAEAEAEAEAE

If you ever wrote a note in middle school you know my title means best friends forever and ever and ever and ever... Well, today two future best friends, Ryan and Nealy, had their first attentive encounter and it was pretty hilarious. Since our camera is like mega cam and not very travel friendly, Katie was the one to capture the moment- and capture it she did.

As much as I would like to come up with something clever to say about this picture, I am going to quote from Katie's blog instead, because her words are perfect,
"Ryan came about 3 weeks before Nealy, and you can tell in the pictures that she is clearly older and wiser. Here she is staring Nealy down and sizing her up. Nealy does not seem to know that she's being silently judged."

Lake Martin

Ryan had her first trip to the lake today. Our good friends the Cooks invited us out to their house and even though the weather was not great, we had a blast. Bill swam and went tubing and I tanned and fed Ryan. We had so much fun and Ryan was amazing the whole time. Here is a recap of her day...

First, she got doused in sunscreen and squeezed into her new swimsuit that is too small for her and mommy and daddy have to return. Oh, we also forgot to bring one of her hats from home so we bought her a new one, only to allow it to float away in the lake at a later time.

Next, she decided to chill on her floats, IN THE SHADE, by the water.

Sweet smiles for mommy

All of that laying out can make a gal hungry

Full tummy means nap time by the water. Yes, she is covered up because by this time it had gotten pretty windy outside.

After she woke up it was time to chill with daddy, then head on home.

FOR SALE

Yes, after some thought we have decided to put the old house on the market and move on into Auburn. We have been thinking about this since Ryan was born. Over the past couple of months our time spent in Auburn has doubled. Bill is seeing more clients and his school work is picking up; and soccer is getting more and more time consuming for me. Also, Ryan will be attending daycare in Auburn starting in August, and our lives would be much easier if we lived close to our work and her school. Oh, and a little more space wouldn't hurt either!

We officially put our house on the market on Thursday, but we are really going to get things moving on it this Wednesday. Wednesday is caravan day for local realtors. This is where they come around to new houses on the market to check them out for their clients. Bill and I have been working really hard to make sure our house is in its peak condition. We've been cleaning, painting, decluttering, reorganizing, landscaping, and beautifying the house since last Wednesday. We are hoping this will not be a long process. We are in love with our house and are sad to think of someone else living in it, but we are also ready to be in Auburn. Speaking of that, we have found a house that we LOVE. We are hoping we can sell our house quickly so the other one does not get away from us. Here is the listing for our house, if you know anyone who is looking- send this their way!

Oh and here is a Ryan fix pic. This was the face she made when we asked her if she wanted to stay in Opelika (actually she was just hungry)!

Okay I have to add to this post, we just played peek-a-boo with Ryan and here are the adorable pictures from it...

Now I've heard of...

Mothers and daughters dressing alike, but not father and daughter. Bill bought Ryan these shorts the other day at Target (they are 6 months and already small on her). We thought we would have to wait a little bit before she could fit into them, well we were wrong. It's okay because they looked precious together!

Drool:
Ryan's has been given an amazing ability to drool. Sometimes I will leave her in her chair for 5 minutes and when I get back it looks like someone dropped a cup of water on the poor girl. Our doctor said she may be cutting teeth soon, but we just think she is constantly thinking of food and salivating at that thought.

TV
Just the other night Ryan was sitting in Bill's lap mesmerized by something. Normally we try to see what she is focusing on, but usually find just another spot on the wall or an abnormally bright light. Well, that particular night she was watching TV. We think she has been doing it for a while, we just did not pick up on it. So this morning I had to get ready without Ryan interruptions (I was in a hurry). I put her in her vibrating chair and in front of Nick Jr, and she was entertained for an hour while I got ready. Now, I do not want to get in the habit of sticking my child in front of a TV for hours on end, but it was extremely nice to see her totally content without me holding her. Something tells me the developmental DVDs will be my best friend very soon.

Bath Time

Those words used to strike horror into the hearts of our big babies (our dogs), but now they are some of the happiest words used. We cannot quite threaten Radly and Kramer with baths anymore because they see Ryan having such a great time and try to get in with her. I am not sure if this is why Ryan is in love with baths, but they sure are a great distraction.

Bill and I were talking on the way home today, yes we made yet another trip to Huntsville- this makes 4 trips to Huntsville and 1 to Jackson, our next big one is the beach, about how blessed we are with this child. She is honestly the easiest, sweetest, most loving baby. I know I am bragging on this child, but I think I had an idea in my head what troubles motherhood could bring and I am yet to face any of these. The ONE thing this child hates is being put down when she wants to be held. That's it, that is the one thing this child does not like. She loves baths, she LOVES going outside, she loves car rides, she loves going for runs, she loves grocery shopping, she loves getting her diaper changed *(oh I have another story about that), she loves talking, she loves eating (no kidding she is 14 pounds), she loves eating her hands, she loves her dog's kisses (yes they cover her from time to time), and she loves her momma and daddy.

*Oh side note. As soon as this child makes a dirty diaper she begins to cry and wants it changed- what a priss!

Simply Irresistible

We had a really fun family day today. We woke up and went for a family run-Bill, Ryan, Radly, Kramer, and I. Then we headed over to our great friends the Adams house to have a pool party. Bill and I were so excited, we thought this would be the first day Ryan would get to swim (well be carried around in a pool). We went to CVS and got her little swimmer diapers, got out her hand-me-down swimsuits from cousin Kate, found her little water shoes and were ready to go. Well this was Ryan's position for about an hour and a half
Once Ryan woke up she was hungry and ready to eat. So this put yet another damper on her first swimming experience. Please know that I am a total sucker when this child cries, and once you see her precious cry face you will understand why.

Don't you just want to kiss her all over and make her all better?!

Don't worry we did not torture her for too long, daddy came to the rescue!!

...and nice and calm again and loving life!

So after our pool party got cried and rained out,we went for a drive around Auburn, then headed home. I then needed to head back to Auburn to go out for soccer, but I did not go alone, the whole family tagged along. I mean how can I resist these two...

2 Month Check Up

Ryan had her two month appointment today and she did great. She weighs 14 pounds and is 24 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile for height and the 95th percentile for weight. We are so proud of our big chuncko. After the traumatic events I suffered last time with Ryan's shots I made Bill come with me this time. She got 4 shots, 2 in both legs and it was horrible. She was so happy and then BAM so sad. She is running a mild fever tonight and is extremely sore. It is so hard to see her like this. I just want to make all of the pain go away. I hope tomorrow is better.

Precious Thing

Well everyone says to do tummy time as often as you can, but this child HATES it. However, we feel like she is getting to the point where she should be able to hold her head up a little better, so we are just going to have to tolerate the tears. Well, today Ryan took a different approach than crying...see for yourself.

Yes, she stopped the fight and just hung out. We even tried to push her head up for a minute, but man this girl just loved dangling her head over the boppy. Oh well, I guess she will hold her head up when she is good and ready!

I also took Ryan for her first run in the BOB stroller today that my parents got Bill and I for our birthdays (best gift)!!! She absolultely loved it, but man she was hilarious. Everytime I was running she was quiet as could be, but anytime I stopped to walk or slowed down because we were going uphill, Ryan would start to cry. It was really cracking me up. I cannot think of better motivation to run than to soothe a crying baby.

I just love this picture, she looks like such a big girl. I found out today that she actually likes her vibrating chair again, it postponed her feeding to a 4 hour gap instead of 3- thanks Graco!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had such a busy/relaxing/extremely fun mother's day weekend. We stayed with the Fergusons for the weekend and Jolie and Dave took Ryan for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night to give Bill and I a break. We almost did not know what to do with ourselves getting to sleep 3 nights in a row. So after spending the day in Decatur watching soccer all day for state cup Bill took me out for a mother's day date. We went to Bridge Street to this amazing Mexican Restaurant called Cantina Laredos. It was so cool, they make guacamole dip in front of you at your table. After that Bill let me pick out something for my mother's day present, which I got my very own Juicy bag!!!! I mean I was beaming when he suggested it. I am in love with my purse and it means so much that I got it from Bill and Ryan on my first mother's day.

On that note, we spent mother's day at Bill's parent's cabin in Hollywood, Al. It was an extremely relaxing day. Bill did some fishing, I did some sleeping, the dogs did some swimming, and Ryan did some pooping. Everyone had a great time.

Two months Old

I cannot believe my little girl is already two months old. She is changing so much and is just so aware of everything. She can see across the room now, which we tested by waving huge objects from one side of the room to the other.
She is enjoying tummy time because she is able to hold her head up longer. She is carrying on converstaions, well conversations that sound like this:
Ryan: "WAAHHH"
Jenny & Bill": "AHHHH"
Ryan: "AHHH, coo ooo,"
Jenny & Bill: "OOHH ahhh."

Our house really is quite hilarious to be around with all of the baby conversations we are having. She is holding her head up and it almost ready to be held on the hip. Her chunko legs are more active than ever and she stands on Bill's lap all the time. We are just having a blast with her.
