First Haircut

Every time I put Ryan's hair up I say to Bill, "We need to get her haircut." You know one of those comments that is said probably 5 times a week and nothing is ever done about it, those comments come more and more frequently nowadays. Well, we woke up this morning and decided to do something about it. I did not want anything drastic, she just had some straggling hairs that needed to all be evened out.
She was amazing! The lady asked if I wanted her to sit in my lap and we thought no, she can handle this. Well, turns out I needed to hold her, but totally worth it. She was such a big girl and never flinched once.

Getting settled in and ready to cut. She was showing her what the spray bottle does.
Thinking the spraying water was hilarious. Mommy, didn't think the spritzing was so hilarious, but you know it's all for her;)
She was such a sport!
Got a little nervous when she got close to her face.
All done!
The lady who cut her hair asked if I wanted to take a piece with me and she could put it on the receipt sheet. I rejected this sweet offer. Who am I kidding, that piece of paper would have ended up in the trash in a matter of days.

My Wacky Girl

Today was Wacky Day at Ryan's school. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love to get into "spirit days." So, I cannot let my daughter down when her time comes around. In my opinion, wacky day translates to tacky day. And, how do you portray tacky...layers! Ryan and I picked out her outfit last night and had a ball doing it. Recipe for dressing wacky...

1. Get multiple legging layers, preferably tights, a skirt, and crazy socks
2. Pick out two mismatched shirts and throw one under the other
3. Choose two mismatched shoes that help show off the legging attire.
4. Put as many pony tails in your daughter's hair that she will tolerate (Ryan chose 3).
5. Top it off with a wide variety of colored bows

These simple 5 steps will give you a first place prize in your Young Tots preschool class. Enjoy!

Belly Pics

My wonderful friend Kathryn came over last weekend to take some belly pics of Ry Ry and me. I am just so dang happy with the outcome. She just started her own photography business and I know she will be SO successful with it. Please visit her BLOG to see the pics.

The Numbers in my Head

3- The number of weeks I have left to be pregnant. I will have to say I am literally counting down the hours. This pregnancy has just been different from the first one. Back pain, a permanent 26 lb. weight attached to my hip, lack of time to sit around and just feel Darby kick and play in my belly, back pain, the NEED for caffeine not being quenched, my aversion to bbq, and oh back pain. I OF COURSE know that it is all worth it. I mean, Ryan is the most amazing thing in the world- but dang- feel free to make an early arrival Darby Ann!

64- The number of yearbook pages I have due on Jan. 17th. Oh and here's another number for ya that's directly associated with the previous, 1- the amount of yearbook pages I've done!

3- Boxes of girl scout cookies were purchased today from my sweet neighbor. I tried to engage in conversation with her while I was at my door, but I was too busy drooling over my Samoas (which they changed the name for to Carmel delights or something stupid like that).

2- Days til Auburn University competes for the BCS National Championship. I am so pumped that Bill got to go on this trip. He is literally having the time of his life and he's still in the Glendale airport. I can admit that I was a little jealous I could not tag along, but I really am not a "game goer." Don't get me wrong, I love to tailgate. To sit around, drink, eat, and be merry with other devout Auburn fans. But, the game scene has never really been my thing. I would much rather be at home snuggled up with my ice water (thanks pregnancy) and box of double chocolate Milano cookies. The feeling I have for Auburn is just PROUD. Being an Auburn athlete alum, I could not imagine the feeling these boys have right now about to compete in this game at this level. I am 100% proud to be an Auburn Tiger. I love living in this town and being a part of the excitement this season, it has literally been electric. It is just another reason why I cannot STAND when people hate on Auburn- not the football team, not the program, but just Auburn as a whole. They have no idea what is it like to live in this town and be a part of this "family." It is a truly unique experience to live as an Auburn Tiger supporter. I know I am going a little over the top, but dang, I love this town:)! (Oh and side note, most of the haters never even graduated from the other school:))

16- The number of days we were gone over the Christmas break. It was a great break, but a VERY exhausting break as well. We went to Johnson City, TN to Banner Elk, NC to Johnson City, TN to Nashville, Tn to Huntsville, Al to Jackson, MS and back to Auburn. It would have been tiring not pregnant, but pregnant...let's just say I would have traded our Yukon for an RV just to allow my back to spread out and breath.

22- Months, that's right. My sweet little girl is 22 months old. I will have to say this is a hard age to mother a child. I want to soak up every second of her love, affection, and attention; but then I have to turn around 20 seconds later and put her in timeout for hitting mommy. It kills me to discipline her, but I know it will all pay off in the long run. I have been exposed to too many poorly behaved children that it takes the fear of disciplining right out of me. I am so excited for Ryan and Darby to finally meet and for the interactions to begin. Ryan has been outstanding with my new nephew Joseph, so I just hope she shows that same affection when the baby is here to stay!

15- The amount of hard shelled Cadbury eggs I just ate. I am in trouble. These things usually go on sale right before Valentine's Day and they are my absolutely FAVORITE candy ever! But, I think Cadbury was looking out for me this year. They knew I only had a little while left in my pregnancy and they needed to get those eggs out early. I bought 8 mini packets today and Kroger and only have 3 left:)

2- Little girls. I mean we are going to have two little girls! I have already caught myself about 5 times saying, "The girls" and it really melts my heart. I know Bill is going to be smothered with PMS, trips to the grocery store for girl items, mood swings, straighteners & curlers, tears over boys, etc. But if there is any man who can handle all of this, it is him! Bill has been the most AMAZING husband ever these past nine months. Every time someone asks what we are having they just give Bill this look like, "Poor man" But he just smiles and says now we'll have two girls in the World Cup. Ahhh, gotta love him.

1- Rug I still need to buy for Darby's room.

43- Pounds I want to lose before summer gets here. Everyone is being super sweet and keeps saying, "Oh you look great" "You have not gained near as much weight as you did with Ryan." Well, I was 140 when I got pregnant with Ryan and was 181 when I delivered. I was 138 when I got pregnant with Darby and am presently at 168. Assuming I will gain about 5 more pounds before this baby comes, 43 is the number I have set. I can honestly say, this is the most excited I have ever been to lose weight and get in shape. Before I got prego with Darbs I was really getting into long distance running. I completed my first half marathon with my buddy Jill, under two hours I might add. So, I have already registered for that same half marathon in April to help motivate me. I am just READY to get running again. You know, every time I watch The Biggest Loser, I wish they had like a post baby addition. No, I would not be losing a total of 250 pounds, but I want Bob to kick my butt in the gym!

9- Weeks I get to stay home with my sweet little girl. I just keep thinking how tough this is going to be for me. I stayed home with Ryan for 5 months since she was convientently born in March. I remember when she was 8 weeks old and I told myself, I could not imagine going back to work right now. Well, I need to put on my big girl panties and get in the work mode a little sooner than desired.

5- Storage bins/garbage bags of clothing that need to be organized and sorted before Darbs gets here. I mean what is the point of keeping all of Ryan's old things if I cannot even muster up the energy to go through the dang tubs. Darby literally has 4 sleepers hanging in her closet right now and surprisingly I seem to think that will be fine. I need to get to one of the bins in storage, but I have been very strictly restricted from lifting ANYTHING by Bill. For some reason, he doesn't want me to go into labor in the next three days.

2- Months that I'm behind on the dog's heartworm meds. You think I would have learned my lesson with having a dog go through heartworm treatment, but nope- still irresponsible.

0- I was thinking about this number today. It is the amount of new pieces of maternity clothing that I have purchased. I remember spending so much money on maternity clothes when I was prego with Ryan. But now, every moring I loathe getting dressed because it is all old clothes for fatty that I am putting on, but I just get over it. I have gone shopping a ton, but I always think, do NOT buy that because more than likely you will never be wearing it again. I will have to throw away my 2 favorite pair of jeggings ever because I have worn them pretty much every day of my pregnancy and they are starting to rip at the crotch, maybe because they are just mediums from NYCompany- not maternity pants.

I'm gonna go take down another 15 Cadburys. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!!!!
