Big Girl Bed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aunt Dala ventured to Auburn yesterday to bring Ryan her big girl bed and to hang out with me and the girls for a couple of days. The bed is so awesome, it used to be Aunt Dala's bed, my Uncle Rich, who passed away 12 years ago, made this bed for her. It is a precious day bed with drawers in the bottom. Uncle Rich was way ahead of his time when he made this, people pay thousands for beds with underneath storage- I am sure he just thought it would be cool.

I love that Ryan is sleeping in the bed that Uncle Rich made. I have the absolute best childhood memories with him. He was seriously my buddy. We would always hang out, make jokes, he would take me on four wheel adventures, he was the absolute best. I was 13 when he died and it was a very strange thing for me. This man that I loved so much and who was my fav to hang out with was no longer around. Fortunately, Uncle Rich loved to make things by hand, so we have a couple of things in our house that make me smile every time I look at them, just thinking of him.

Back to the bed. Ryan slept the first night in her bed ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She did not wake up, she laid down in her bed and thought it was awesome, went to sleep, then Bill and I had to wake her up to go to school. She looked like a little teenager in the bed, just rolling around pretending we were not in there to wake her up! We hope night #2 is as smooth as last one.

Ryan hiding inside the bed before we moved it inside. Okay, I say we, I mean Bill. Who am I kidding, I was at socer while all of this was taking place.
Hiding out under the covers, this was before we flipped the bed around.
Flipped the bed. We used the "headboard" of the day bed to be kind of her bed rail, and then put her in a corner. One of my biggest fears was her falling out of her bed, but she did so fabulous. She is showing us she knows how to get in and out of the bed. Ugh, I cannot get over how much of a big girl she is.
Thank you so much Aunt Dala for brining it down. Ryan will love this bed forever!
Thank you so much for bringing the bed down Aunt Dala. We could not be happier with it!

That bed is so so cute! Look at Uncle Rich and his pottery barn visions! So special that you have that bed, you were, in fact, his "buddy" and he would be so happy to know that your little girl is sleeping in that bed. I can hear him now, "Your not ticklish...your not ticklish."...YES I AM!!!!!

Have fun with Aunt Dala!
